Moby Dick returns. One of the greatest works of world literature ever written is made into a musical by Dimitris Papadimitriou, directed by Giannis Kakleas.
The monumental confrontation of human with God, time travel, and a musical. Respecting the past, yet avoiding nostalgia or idealization, Onassis CULTURE looks to the future. In this work, captain Ahab ends up being the most heartwarming Saint. He asks with unrivalled bravery to be sacrificed, so that his need for freedom and love is heard by the indifferent and merciless Father. And, just like any Saint, he has taken with him his whole crew, which is the audience that has to “take sides” among the idealist defender of Truth Ahab, the brave first mate Starbuck, the second mate Stubb, and the chronicler Ishmael. Because, as happens with every masterpiece, MOBY DICK is an eternal generator of ideas. As long as you gather the right concepts in the same tale, they in turn never cease to reproduce and be reproduced.
